Discussion – Week 5 COLLAPSE Week 5 Discussion Issues of gender equality in the workplace are important. The IS and ICT professions have been widely criticized for imbalances and power differentials between men and women. This issue is more pronounced for the IT industry than others because women do not enter the IT field in great numbers, and attrition among women is greater than among men. This Discussion will help you highlight some of the issues affecting women in the IT workplace. Discussion Prompt: What is your opinion on the issues of cultural histories and gender identity expectations? Do you think these are valid points about the past and present experience of women in the ICT workplace? To participate in the Discussion, respond to the Discussion Prompt by Day 2.
