Sequence Painting
Final Project:-Materials : on Bristol paper or illustration paperCreate a sequence of five 8”x8” paintings. Over the course of your sequence the compositions must make shifts in both color (hue and value) and form, have at least one panel that implies transparency, and must make a transition between geometric and organic forms. The shifts in form should be dramatic and logical, such that each panel is necessary for the success of the overall sequence — so much so, that if you were to compare the first and last panels you would not believe them to be related.Planning Sketches:Should include drawings of at least 3 full sequences. While the drawings do not need to be in color – they should explain the use of color and how it will transition from panel to panel. You can do that by making color sketches or you could do that by coding your forms similar to making a paint by number. I like to do both.FirstRough Draft:All forms should be penciled in on all panels, and painting should be in progress on at least 1 – 2 panels. The idea should be communicated fully.Second Rough Draft:Should be a complete pass at the entire sequence, affording you a chance to collect feedback and make refinements before the final deadline.
