Marshmallow Experiment

Find research (at least 2 sources) that supports or refutes the claims made in Mischel, W., Shoda, Y., & Rodriguez, M.L. (1989).  Delay of Gratification in Children. Science, 244(4907), 933- 937 (Note: This article is not the original study.  However, it is of interest because the authors have repeated the original study many times and also because they have been able to follow the children from the original study over time and draw some conclusions.  I have provided the original study on Moodle for your reference.  Additionally, you may find that the study procedure is easier to follow in the original article.) Be sure to: Describe the study What did the researchers’ wonder about?  What led them to conduct this study? What was the procedure? What claims did they make based on their data? Describe the studies you located. What were the researchers’ questions about the original study? What did they do differently from the original study? What were their conclusions?
