Guidelines for Research PaperGeneralYour assignment is to write a 15-page minimum typed analytical research paper in APA (7th Ed.) style. The paper must contain at least 20 scholarly references. Scholarly web sites may be used, but will NOT count as one of your references. A complete paper should include:1. Title Page 2. Abstract 3. Body (text) of the paper (this is what I count in the 15 pages) 4. Reference Page (list ALL sources used in your paper) General APA Guidelines to Keep in Mind1. Papers should be written in 12-point serif font (e.g., Times New Roman, Courier, Palatino). 2. Papers should have 1-inch margins on all sides. 3. Every source you use for your paper should be cited in the text. It should be cited in parentheses and follow the format of (Author, Date). The page number will be included in the citation if a direct quote is used. If you state something that is not common knowledge you MUST cite the source where it came from; otherwise it is plagiarism. 4. Quotes of 40 or more words need to be set apart as a block quote with the left margin indented 5-7 spaces. 5. Terms that are abbreviated are written out completely the first time they are used, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. The abbreviation can be used thereafter. For example, Short-term memory (STM), then STM thereafter. 6. There should be NO one-sentence paragraphs. 7. Every citation used in the paper needs to be referenced correctly in the References section. EvaluationSee the grade rubric below for information regarding how the paper will be graded. Notes1. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) articles can take several weeks to get back to you, so if your paper will require sources from ILL you will need to request them very early in the term. 2. Papers need to be written in MS Word or rtf format. 3.
