A Public Setting Communication
Assessment summaryThe ability to communicate your ideas in a public setting is crucial to success. Consequently, each student is expected to contribute to the discussion both in class and on M. You are required to make posts in Moodle which demonstrate your understanding of the weekly readings, provide a reflection on the relatedthemes and arguments and adds to the class discussion by sharing related links to relevant external websites as well.A prompt will be provided for each topic which may include a guiding question to focus your response.Each week before class (minimum 5 entries out of the 9 teaching weeks) you will be required to post aresponse (up to 400 words) which includes:• a summary of the Readings (main lines of argument)• commentary on the readings (your analysis of the arguments, how they relate to you, your practice, your community, etc., further context on the author or topic and/or any further supporting or contrary views or opinions)• at least one link to a relevant website, e.g. current events, articles or debates (this may include video or text-based sources e.g. news articles, example professional projects, as well as academic sources such as journal papers) and comment why you have chosen to share the link(s).You will be required to post at least 24 hours before each class. This will allow time for the interesting links to current events / articles to be reviewed by your tutor and classmates and then discussed in class.General rules about maintaining positive online discussions need to be maintained.
